But on a serious note Jorge's percussive carreer has seen him backing Beatles Cover bands in Japan and jamming with Slash! The man has led a wild life and that's why we refer to our good friend as the Argentinian madman. He pounds the pigskins Ringo style which is all good with Makar because we're all Beatle fanatics. He lays down a serious backbeat that propels Makar's sound and fills in the spaces we need filled! Jorge listens to the song like no one else, even sings along (as we found out while doing some cleanup work on our debut album...who the hell is that singing over the drums...Goddamit is that JORGE!!!). But that's why he's the ideal drummer for Makar. When you see the man in action at a show he's into the music completely. Singing along, grooving and adding great energy to the set. He's Makar's ideal drummer and a great friend.

Jorge has just started his own architecture firm, Arias Architecture! The man is talented in many fields winning a fulbright scholarship to study architecture at Columbia in NY. Alas, due to the rules of the scholarship he has to return to Argentina for 2 years so we're losing him. We wish him all the best though. It's been a pleasure playing with him and his playing on the album was just awesome. He's a fun spirit, a warm spirit, has an excellent sense of humor, and if you ply him with enough liquor he might just do a Jackie Chan style tuck and role into rehearsal when you least expect it. :-)

His wife Marianna is also an architect and very talented as well.
